In this concert, Ben Verdery will share pieces he has written over the past 40+ years of his career, including his 11 Etudes, accompanied by visuals by photographer and photogravurist Lothar Osterburg; Memories of Ellis Island, accompanied by historical photographs curated by John Olson; Salem, NC, performed with Hao Yang; three pieces from his 1992 recording Some Towns and Cities; and arrangements of three American Songs, written by Perry Bradford (as sung by Mamie Smith), Randy Newman, and Jimi Hendrix.

On Saturday, November 15th, Ben will conduct the Clark County School District Honor Guitar Ensemble at The Performing Arts Center at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. He will be conducting a world premiere of his piece, Las Vegas NV, my Scenes From Ellis Island, and Clarice Assad's wonderful work, Magnetic Trance.

Admission is Free.
