Like so many of my colleagues, we will not let the pandemic keep us from holding our festivals and classes. I'm over the moon to report that my 21st Hawaii class will happen from July 2-6. It will be virtual and filled with lectures, classes, and concerts. Please look at the schedule below. My guest teaching artist this year is my dear friend, the brilliant Julian Gray. I am also thrilled to announce that on July 5th at 4:00 EST, I will be giving a talk on the evolution of my piece Scenes From Ellis Island. At its conclusion, the world-renowned virtuoso Scott Tennant and I will discuss Memories of Ellis Island, a solo work I wrote for my great friend Scott. He is currently learning it for a premiere later in the season. Scott will play excerpts and will discuss various aspects of the piece:
